Instead of bore you with the details of why I've been away from the blog for so long I thought I would just get right back into the swing of things and share a recent project I've been working on. My client wanted to update her current space (picture childhood white dresser with painted pink knobs and floral, Shabby Chic bedding) and make it more sophisticated and, umm, male friendly. She wasn't quite ready to give up her beloved pink so I chose pale pink and treated it as more of a neutral. I paired the paler shade with crisp white, oatmeal linen, warm currant and shimmering brass. It's a calming atmosphere and a little girlie but the base of the room is classic so all of the more feminine pieces like the pillows can easily be swapped out over time.
And while we're on the topic of new blog posts and pillow, I'm excited to share that I'm working on a new site that will have an updated portfolio of my design work and weekly blog posts. The site will also include Kristin Kerr The Shop - it will include a line of home products that I designed as well as one-of-a-kind pillows and accessories made from textiles I've collected from travels. The inspiration for the collection comes from my personal history and memories as well as my love for fashion. The alpaca pillow above is just one of the items that will be available. Ill share more details in the coming weeks so check back for updates.
It feels good to be back!
